Kim Valdes LPC, CPCS, RPT-S
Kim Valdes obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York in 2000. She received her M.A in Community Counseling from Argosy University, Atlanta in 2011 and, a Play Therapy Certificate from Capella University in 2013. In 2018, she received her Georgia Board Certification to Supervise Professional Counselors., and in 2019 obtained her Play Therapy Supervision Certification. Kim is a continuous life long learner who is passionately working on developing her skills as a child and family therapist, spiritual training, and cultivating her meditative practice. She is currently a Licensed Sacred Soul Mentoring Practitioner and an avid Meditation Facilitator as well as providing energy healing. She is a member of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP), the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia and, the National & Georgia Play Therapy Association.
Kim is a Cuban American born in Yonkers, New York to two parents who arrived here after Fidel Castro took over Cuba in 1959. Her family sought political asylum to the US during the beginning of this Cuban Era. The opportunity to immigrate to the US provided opportunities she has been grateful for and the future generations for her family.
Kim is a mother of two young adult graduates of Georgia Tech and University of Georgia Athens (UGA) and wife of 30 years. Her role of wife and mother has been her most important life experiences that has supported her growth and healing throughout life's journey. She loves to travel with her husband, spend time with family, and meditate.
