Child Therapy (ages 2-10)
"Play" is the language of a child. Children learn through play, express feelings through play, and work out issues in play. An extensive variety of toys in my play room supports their expression of feelings, challenges, or what is important to communicate about their lives. My work with children focuses on trauma and attachment. Play Therapy provides a way to help children address and work through the trauma via the unconscious and subconscious process using direct and nondirective play approaches. Children can find their strength internally and and find resources in their world through play as they work through their trauma.
Is a medium that is used to provide a safe container for feelings and experiences that words cannot express.
